These terms are the agreement between you and Cave ("we") for using caveapp.io and the Cave app. By creating an account or using Cave, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. You must be 21 or older
Cave is about alcohol and is only for people of legal drinking age, which we set at 21. You confirm that the birthday you give us is accurate. We'll close any account we believe belongs to someone under 21.
2. Your account
- Use your real name and accurate information, and keep your password to yourself.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't create accounts to get around limits or a ban.
3. Your content
You own what you add to Cave: your bottles, notes, ratings, photos and comments. You give us permission to store, display and process it only as needed to run Cave. That includes showing it to the people your settings allow and sending it to our AI provider when you use AI features. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies a friend made, such as their own entry for a bottle you shared, stay with them.
Only post content you have the right to share.
4. Be a good guest
Don't use Cave to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate or spam anyone, including through friend requests, tags or comments;
- post anything illegal, hateful or sexually explicit, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- sell or arrange the sale of alcohol;
- scrape Cave, probe or break its security, or access data that isn't yours;
- use Cave's AI features for anything other than Cave, or try to get around their limits.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. The Somm and other AI features
Label scanning, the wine list reader and the Somm use artificial intelligence. They can misread a label, get a fact wrong or suggest something you won't like. Double-check anything that matters, such as vintages, prices, allergens and drinking windows. AI suggestions aren't professional, medical or financial advice. AI features have daily limits that may change.
6. Drink responsibly
Cave doesn't sell alcohol and doesn't encourage excessive drinking. Never drink and drive, and follow the laws where you live.
7. The service
Cave is free right now. We may add paid features later and will tell you before anything you use starts to cost money. We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we ever shut Cave down, we'll give you notice and a way to get a copy of your data.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users or Cave at risk.
9. Disclaimers
Cave is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise Cave will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information in it, including AI output, is accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Cave is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or $50.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. This doesn't take away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
12. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app. If you keep using Cave after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
